Terms of use
Version 2026-09, in force from 2026-09-14. These terms are between you and SportSA ("SportSA").
1. What SportSA is
SportSA is a platform where organizers publish events and participants enter them. SportSA is not the organizer. The organizer runs the event, holds the permits and insurance, and decides its rules. We sell the entry, take the payment, issue the ticket, and provide the check-in tooling.
2. Your account
One account per person, with details that are true. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us if you think somebody else has it.
3. Entering an event
- An entry is a contract between you and the organizer, made through us.
- Your place is held while you pay and is confirmed when the payment succeeds. A held place that is not
paid for is released.
- Entries are personal. Passing your bib to somebody else without a transfer through the platform can
disqualify you both, and it puts the event's medical planning at risk.
- The organizer sets the rules of the event, including cut-off times, age limits and required equipment.
4. Prices and fees
Prices are set by the organizer. A service fee is charged per entry, shown before you pay, either added to the price or absorbed by the organizer. Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where it applies.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Refunds follow the refund and cancellation policy, which is published separately and shown on the event page before you pay. SportSA refunds you on the organizer's behalf, so you deal with us and not with them.
6. What we ask of you
Do not use the platform to break the law, to impersonate somebody, to enter somebody without their agreement, to scrape it, or to interfere with it. We can suspend an account that does.
7. What we are responsible for
We keep the platform running with reasonable skill and care, but we do not promise it is never unavailable. We are not responsible for the event itself: its cancellation, its conduct, its timing, or anything that happens to you at it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, and nothing excludes liability where the law does not allow it.
8. Your content
Anything you publish through the platform, for example a review, stays yours. You give us permission to show it on the platform. We can remove content that is abusive, false or unlawful.
9. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Privacy and data. Entries you have already paid for stay valid, and the organizer keeps the record they need to run the event. We can close an account that breaks these terms, and we say why when we do.
10. Changes and law
A change to these terms is a new version with its own date, and the version that applied when you entered an event is the one that governs that entry. These terms are governed by South African law.
